1. Definitions
- Service — watch repair, servicing, cleaning, and related work carried out by Loceng Studio.
- User / Client — any person who contacts, visits, or engages the studio for a service.
- We / Us / Our — Loceng Studio, operating from 78, Jalan Sultan Abdul Jalil, 30450 Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia.
- Agreement — these Terms & Conditions and any service-specific communication between client and studio.
- Watch / Item — any timepiece left with the studio for service or assessment.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting a contact form, telephoning the studio, or leaving a watch with us for service, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years of age or have the consent of a parent or guardian.
- You have the authority to consent to the service on the watch in question.
- You have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
3. Service Description
Loceng Studio offers three primary services:
- Quiet Check (RM 145) — battery renewal, seal inspection, case clean, and written condition note for quartz watches.
- Movement Renewal (RM 590) — full mechanical service including disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, and timing machine regulation.
- Case & Crystal Care (RM 350) — case refinishing and crystal repair or replacement.
All prices are in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). Service availability is subject to the complexity of the watch and the current workshop schedule.
4. Intake and Scope of Work
On receiving a watch, we will assess its condition and confirm the agreed service scope. We will not proceed with work beyond the agreed scope without first contacting the client. If additional work is identified during service, we will:
- Notify the client by phone or email.
- Provide a cost estimate for the additional work.
- Await confirmation before proceeding.
If the client declines additional work, the original agreed service will be completed and the watch returned as discussed.
5. Pricing and Payment
Service prices are as stated at the time of agreement. Parts required for the service (e.g. batteries, crystals, gaskets) are quoted separately and confirmed before fitting. Payment is due on collection of the watch. We accept cash and common bank transfer methods. Receipts are provided on request.
We do not store credit or debit card details.
6. Turnaround Times
Estimated turnaround times are provided in good faith and are not contractual commitments. Actual completion time may vary depending on parts availability, movement complexity, or workshop workload. We will notify the client if there is a significant change to the estimated completion date.
- Quiet Check: 2–3 working days
- Movement Renewal: 10–14 working days
- Case & Crystal Care: 5–7 working days
7. Care of Items Left with Us
Watches left with us for service are stored securely in the workshop. We take reasonable care of all items. However, we are not liable for pre-existing damage, inherent defects, or damage resulting from the age or fragility of a watch component that only becomes apparent during service.
Watches not collected within 60 days of notification that they are ready will be held at the client's risk, and a storage fee may apply after 90 days.
8. Disclaimers
We provide watch repair services based on professional experience and industry standards. However:
- We do not claim that all watches can be restored to original manufacturer specifications.
- Water resistance is assessed but not warranted beyond what the watch's design supports.
- Parts used are sourced from reputable suppliers but may not always be original manufacturer parts unless specifically agreed.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, our total liability to a client for any claim arising from a service is limited to the value of the service fee paid. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, including sentimental or collector value attributed to a watch.
10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. In the event of a dispute, we will first attempt to resolve the matter through direct discussion. If a resolution is not reached, disputes may be referred to the Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia or the relevant courts in Perak.

11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Significant changes will be reflected in the updated date at the top of this page. Continued engagement with the studio after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
