What Sets the Work Apart

Honest Intake, Every Time

The first thing we do is look properly. Not a glance — a real assessment. We write down what we find and share it with you. Including if the watch doesn't actually need what you thought it might.

Timing Machine Regulation

Mechanical servicing is completed with regulation on a professional timing machine. The result is measurable, not estimated. We can show you the before and after.

Nothing Without Your Consent

Any work beyond what was agreed is discussed first. No surprises on your invoice. No extra procedures added quietly because we thought they'd be useful.

Regular Progress Updates

We contact you when your watch arrives, if anything changes mid-service, and when it's ready. There's no long period of silence and no need to follow up to find out what's happening.

Restraint with Vintage Pieces

Older watches with original patina or period finishes are handled carefully. We know when not to polish. Cosmetic work on vintage pieces is always discussed before anything is touched.

Written Condition Notes

Every Quiet Check includes a short written note you can keep. It records what we found, what was done, and any observations worth knowing. A useful reference for the years ahead.

Over a Decade of Mechanical Experience

Razif has been working with watch movements — quartz and mechanical — since before Loceng Studio existed as a workshop. That background means familiar brands and movement types are approached with real knowledge, not guesswork.

We work on Seiko, Citizen, Orient, Tissot, and similar brands regularly. Vintage movements from the 1970s and 80s are something we've encountered often enough to treat with the right level of patience.

Familiar Movement Types

  • ETA, Miyota, NH series movements
  • Standard Swiss quartz platforms
  • Vintage Japanese hand-wind movements
  • Basic dress watch automatics

What the Timing Machine Shows

  • Beats per hour accuracy
  • Rate variation in multiple positions
  • Beat error and amplitude
  • Pre-service and post-service comparison

Regulation You Can See

A timing machine gives an objective reading of a movement's performance — not a feel or an estimate. After a Movement Renewal, we record the regulated result so you have something concrete, not just a verbal assurance.

This matters more for older movements where wear can affect consistency across positions. Knowing the actual rate tells you and us whether the service has achieved what it should.

A Service That Talks to You

One of the most common frustrations with watch repair is simply not knowing what's happening to your watch. At Loceng Studio, we contact you at each stage — arrival, any change to scope, and completion.

If something is found that wasn't expected, we explain what it is and what your options are. The decision about how to proceed stays with you.

Communication Points

  • Confirmation when your watch arrives
  • Alert if additional work is identified
  • Ready notification with collection details
  • Written condition note on completion

Our Pricing

  • Quiet Check RM 145
  • Movement Renewal RM 590
  • Case & Crystal Care RM 350

Prices shown per service. Additional parts quoted separately before any work begins.

Pricing That's Easy to Understand

Each service has a clear starting price. There are no hidden add-ons attached by default. If a part needs replacing, we tell you the cost first and wait for your go-ahead.

For complex mechanical work where the full scope is uncertain, we give you an early estimate after the initial assessment — before committing to the full service.

What's Distinctive About the Studio

Condition Note System

We record what we find in writing. It's simple — but uncommon. Owners leave with a note they can refer back to, and a record of what was actually done to their watch.

Calibrated, Not Estimated

Regulation is done with a timing machine, not by feel. The difference matters — particularly for older automatics where positional variation can be significant.

The "Don't Touch" Option

If a watch should be left largely as-is, we say so. For vintage pieces, restraint is sometimes the right call — and we're comfortable making that recommendation even when it means less work for us.

Referral if We Can't Help

If a piece is better suited to an authorised service centre or a specialist in high-complication movements, we'll tell you that upfront rather than taking work we're not the right fit for.
